ABOUT

A talented and creative multi-hyphenate located in New York City

A seasoned Executive Producer and Creative Executive on over 40 produced movies, series, and miniseries; Doug began his career in Los Angeles where he worked in feature film development for companies like Brillstein-Grey and producer Cotty Chubb (The Crow, Hoffa, Eve’s Bayou).  Heading back east, Doug picked up a law degree but quickly found success in directing and producing live multi-camera comedy shows for comedians like Howie Mandel, Richard Jeni, Craig Shoemaker, Anthony Clark, and Kevin Pollack.  Doug spent 2004 on the presidential campaign trail with Senator John Kerry, first as a producer for the Discovery/New York Times show STAFFERS and then as the producer/shooter for the feature documentary, INSIDE THE BUBBLE.  Following this, Doug joined RHI ENTERTAINMENT (later renamed SONAR) where he oversaw over 100 hours of produced television and rose to Vice President, Production & Development.  In 2013, he left Sonar to launch Paper Airplane Productions.  In addition to several projects in development, Doug is in pre-production on the two hour film ALICE IN DEADLAND financed by Great Point Media and set to begin production next year.  Doug most recently worked at The Metropolitan Opera as an in-house video producer and editor where he was responsible for projects across all media platforms including international theatrical broadcasts, television, social, and online.
Blazingly fast and extremely creative, Doug has worked as both a staff and freelance editor on dozens of shows for clients like The Metropolitan Opera, MTV, PBS, Nickelodeon, TruTV, Logo, and A&E.  From scripted to reality, documentary to corporate, shorts to promos,  Doug has never been rattled and always makes his deadline.  An Avid and Premiere expert with over twenty years of experience, his son often wonders why their computer keyboard has so many different colored keys.
Ever since Doug wrote his first screenplay at age 6 in crayon, he’s been passionate about writing.  Today, he prefers to use his crayons for coloring books, but still continues to write and pitch movies, limited series and series.  His first produced film CARNY aired on the Syfy network where it remains one of the network’s highest rated original movies ever, drawing over 3 million viewers in its initial premiere.   (For comparison, SHARKNADO only scored 1.4 million viewers.  Take that, SHARKNADO!)  Doug followed this up with FEROCIOUS PLANET for Syfy drawing in over 1.86 million viewers.  Doug is currently writing and Executive Producing ALICE IN DEADLAND based on the hit book series of the same name and set to begin production next year.
